Liam Sceats is set to consolidate his lead in the 2022 Giltrap Group North Island Formula Ford Series at the third round at Pukekohe Park Raceway in Auckland, this weekend.  With championship rival, Alex Crosbie, not entered, it will be left to the pursuing pack to stop Sceats from running away with more points.

Sceats (Van Diemen Stealth) and Crosbie have between them won all six races over the first two rounds, however, Blake Dowdall (Spectrum 015), Mason Potter (Van Diemen Stealth), Leo Scott(Spectrum 05) and Sebastian Manson (Spectrum 015) have also stood on the podium and will want to move up to the top step.

Dowdall, along with Judd Christianson, are both trying to complete massive rebuilds after major crashes at the Repco Supercars Championship round at Pukekohe in mid-September. Christianson will swap to his Swift FB91 while his Stealth is rebuilt while Dowdall is still repairing his Spectrum.

Back behind the wheel will be Hayden Bakkerus (Mygale) who, along with Alex Crosbie, took part in the Asia Pacific/Oceania Ferrari Driver Academy selection camp recently held at the Sepang F1 International Circuit.  Both missed being selected to go to Italy but the experience for Bakkerus driving a wings and slicks F4 car on an international F1 circuit will add to his overall experience.

The third round, one-day meeting, is back at Pukekohe Park Raceway in Auckland with a similar track and race format as at the Supercars event four weeks ago.  Drivers will face qualifying, two 10-lap and one 12-lap races held as part of an Auckland Car Club meeting

On the line is a $500 cash prize for fastest qualifier provided by the Hampton Downs NZ Racing Academy.  The award is part of the increased $66,000 prize pool from the Tony Quinn Foundation with funding for travel and testing opportunities with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing NZ.

The Giltrap Group North Island Formula Ford Series is also supported by Yokohama, the Tony Quinn Foundation and NAPA Auto Parts.
