Are you ready to test out Hampton Downs new MX5 Challenge? Join us on the wet skid pan where 6 participants will compete head-to-head over an hour. Each participant will tackle a timed course on the Hampton Downs Wet Skid pan as they try to clock the fastest time and bragging rights. PLEASE NOTE: Our MX5s have MANUAL transmissions. We recommend that you have previous experience with driving manual vehicles to get the most out of this experience.

Hone your skidding skills to get the fastest time through our timed course on the wet skid pan. Each driver will receive an initial run of the course with an instructor in the passenger’s seat then give it a go themselves and get their fastest time against 5 other participants over the course of the hour!

Take to the wheel with an instructor by your side, helping you push the car to its limits and send it sliding!

Things you need to know
Safety
Driver must be aged 16+
Minimum height: 150cm
Maximum height: 187cm
Maximum weight: 115kg
Due to the nature of this experience, verbal proficiency and understanding of the English language is essential
You must hold a current restricted NZ drivers licence or higher. Non-NZ licence holders must gain approval from HD management prior to the experience
It is essential that you bring your physical licence with you on the day as it must be sighted at sign in
This vehicle has a manual transmission. Competency in driving a manual vehicle is preferred, however not a requirement to participate in this experience.

*Although you may comply with the age and height restrictions above, you must have the ability to fully control the Kart. - as everyone carries their height differently. Some customers may be required to prove they can control the kart in our test go kart prior to departure. Final decision will be made by our Go Kart team.

Can I take passengers?
No, this is an individual experience.
What safety gear do I need?
All gear is provided by our team on the day. The only thing you’ll need to bring is closed-in footwear.
How long is 1 session and how much is it per session?
One session is an hour long and we allow up to 6 people per session. It is $89 per session.
What licence do I need?
You must have a minimum of a valid New Zealand restricted licence* (Restricted or full licence). Please remember to bring this on the day with you as we check them.
*PLEASE NOTE: The vehicles have MANUAL transmissions. We highly recommend you have previous experience with driving manual vehicles to make the most out of the experience.
Can I bring spectators?
Yes! You are welcome to bring along friends and family to watch the experience.
