This is your chance to drive your car around one of the World’s best motorsport circuits with friends and family in the car with you. Our Track Cruise is very popular with families, enthusiasts and car clubs alike. It is a unique and novel experience and one everyone should tick off their to-do list. Enjoy five laps of our 2.7km National Circuit, reaching speeds of up to 120 km/ph, behind our safety car in a controlled and safe environment.

Things you need to know
Safety
All passengers must have a seat belt
Your vehicle must have a current WOF and registration
Driver must adhere to the rules as specified in the pre-cruise briefing
Driver must have a NZ restricted civil licence or higher - Please ensure you bring your license with you on the day! Only physical licenses will be accepted

*Although you may comply with the age and height restrictions above, you must have the ability to fully control the Kart. - as everyone carries their height differently. Some customers may be required to prove they can control the kart in our test go kart prior to departure. Final decision will be made by our Go Kart team.

Hampton Downs Track Cruise – Pre-Arrival Information & Safety Guide
Thank you for booking a Hampton Downs Track Cruise.
Whether it's your first time driving on a race circuit or you're returning for another lap,
we're looking forward to welcoming you to one of New Zealand's premier motorsport
facilities.
To help make your day safe, enjoyable and hassle-free, please read the information below
before you arrive.
By participating in a Track Cruise, you agree to comply with these Conditions of
Participation and any instructions provided by Hampton Downs staff and marshals.
Track Cruise Requirements – At a Glance
• A current Warrant of Fitness (WoF) and Vehicle Registration (Rego)
• A current and valid Driver Licence
• Restricted Driver Licence holders cannot carry passengers
• All drivers and passengers must sign in before entering the track
• Everyone entering the track must wear the correct wristband
• All occupants must wear their seatbelt at all times
• Passengers aged 16 years and under ride FREE
• Passengers aged 17 years and over are $15 per person
• Each Track Cruise includes five guided laps
• Maximum speed is 120 km/h
Before You Arrive
Your vehicle must have a current WoF and Rego, be roadworthy, and proof of registration
should be available if recently renewed.
Drivers must hold a current Driver Licence. Restricted licence holders cannot carry
passengers and will receive a different coloured wristband.
Passengers are welcome, must sign in, wear a wristband and remain seat-belted. Passenger
pricing: 16 years and under FREE, 17 years and over $15 per person
On Arrival
All drivers and passengers must sign in and wear the correct wristband. Driver wristbands
are colour-coded to your booked session. No wristband = No Track Cruise. After sign-in
you'll be directed to an room for a verbal briefing, after which you will proceed to Pit Lane
in your vehicle for final checks.
Your Track Cruise Experience
Each Track Cruise consists of five laps behind a Hampton Downs pace vehicle. After your
fourth lap you'll see the chequered flag indicating your final lap. If you've booked another
session, queue again at Pit Exit.
Track Rules
Track Cruises are designed to be safe and enjoyable. No drifting, burnouts, racing, drag
racing or overtaking the lead vehicle. Maximum speed is 120 km/h (a limit, not a target).
Passing Other Vehicles
Passing is permitted only on designated straight sections, under acceleration, and when safe
to do so.
Track Light Signals
Green: Track clear.
Yellow: Slow down and proceed with caution.
Red: Slow down immediately and exit the circuit via Pit Lane as directed.
If Something Goes Wrong
If your vehicle breaks down, move safely off the racing line if possible and remain inside
your vehicle. Recovery will assist at the end of the session. Only exit the vehicle if there is
immediate danger, such as fire.
Failure to Follow the Rules
Drivers who breach the rules may be shown a Black Flag and must return to Pit Lane
immediately. The circuit is monitored by multiple cameras.
