Hampton Downs brings you the third installment of the MIKE PERO MotoFest over the weekend of March 7th and 8th 2020. The NZ Superbikes will headline the event as always but the 2020 event will see the launch of the Classic NZ Grand Prix, which is an eight-lap race on Sunday afternoon featuring international entrants. Legends Aaron Slight, Kevin Magee, Andrew Stroud and Graeme Crosby, will be back and a full round of the NZSBK Championship will deliver plenty of action on track.

NZSBK CHAMPIONSHIP – ROUND 3
Round 3 of the 2019 New Zealand Superbike Championship will be contested at the Mike Pero Motofest. Ten classes, from Superbikes to Sidecars, will take to the track to contest national titles. The prestigious NZTT title will also be contested on Sunday afternoon.
THE MOTUL CLASSIC NZ GRAND PRIX – Post Classics
2020 sees the launch of the Classic NZ Grand Prix for Post Classic bikes. The three-race weekend will culminate with an eight-lap feature race of the International 4km circuit on Sunday afternoon. Sponsored by Motul, the inaugural Classic NZ GP at MotoFest will feature bikes of Pre 82 (72-82), Pre 89 (82-89) and Pre 95 (89-95) eras. We expect over 40 entries. The field will come from the Post Classics class, which will also have two four-lap races on Saturday. So grab a ticket and get to Hampton Downs where you can take in a little bit of motorcycle racing history.
STAR INSURANCE LEGENDS GARAGE
Enjoy free access to our MotoFest Legends garage thanks to Star Insurance. All our legends and the many bikes they are riding will be publicly accessible throughout the weekend. They will also do demos daily over the Motofest weekend. Public will also have access to the daily warm-up sessions before each track demo.
KAWASAKI BIKE PARK
See motorcycles of all kinds, shapes and sizes infield in the Kawasaki Bike Park. There’ll be 100s of bikes parked infield over the weekend – on display for all to see. If you are attending MotoFest on your bike infield parking is free so head straight to Gate 2
SHOEI TWO-STROKE CLASSICS
The Shoei Helmets sponsored Classic Two Stroke category will feature again at MotoFest. This class will consist of only two-stroke racing machines from typically the 70s’ 80s’ and 90s’. For many in the grandstand, it will be a new experience to hear the high-pitched scream of the bikes of yesteryear. The line up will include the very popular Yamaha TZ250 and 350 bikes as well as the legendary TZ750s. We’re also expecting Suzuki RG500s’ and a number of 125 two strokes. Race Bike Test Day
6 MARCH – TEST DAY INFORMATION – OPEN TO MOTOFEST COMPETITORS ONLY
7.00am: Documentation open. To complete the indemnity form prior to arrival please click here.
7.15am: Scrutineering opens
8.00am: Riders briefing (compulsory to attend)
8.30am: Track live with first session. Time on track is 20 minutes per class. The Race Bike Test Day Schedule is TBC
Safety gear: Leathers, helmets, back brace and gloves
Cost: $225.00 per rider (including safety levy)
Conditions: Please note if you pre-register then the date is not transferable. All entrants are strictly supervised throughout the day to ensure there is no overzealous riding. Hampton Downs Motorsport Park reserve the right to refuse or revoke any entrant at any time.
